International transport affected by strike in the Finnish forest industry

The strike in the forest industry will affect international transportation, as Finland’s export volume will be significantly reduced due to the strike.

The reduction of export volumes results in abnormal arrangements for loading import loads (groupage, part load, and full load).

The strikes started at the end of January. The Union of Paper Workers has stated that the strike will continue until the 24th of February if the parties don’t accomplish an agreement. The negotiations will continue from today on the 3rd of February. The Industrial Union has stated that the work stoppage of the mechanical forest industry will continue until the 23rd of February 11:59 P.M. The formerly introduced strike of the chemical industry will start on the 10th of February.

Different arrangements may affect schedules and pricing.
